a taste of home

on a corner in glasgow along the great western road ...
there is a little taste of home for globe wandering, boerewors hungry south africans.
on wednesday the good animal doctor took me there.

i left home in splendid spring sunshine harbouring cheerful thoughts of warm weather. My home is heated by a coal fire, the system works and heats the house quite efficiently, but ...
it entails lugging coal from coal shed to house at least twice a day and quite frankly my coal bill is of a size which, were i a pessimist, i might deem - unfortunate.

on to glasgow and nirvana.

lamb bunny chow!
boerewors rolls!
sparletta creme soda!
nik naks!
chocolate logs!
tennis biscuits!
ouma buttermilk rusks!

etc ...

only the african born would understand the degree of joy engendered by the sight of these once familiar goodies.

the plates were enamel!
ready, steady ...

go!
